College of Architecture and Planning was established in King Saud University in 1404 AH. The Architecture and Building Sciences department, the college’s nucleus, was the first academic institution to teach architecture in the Arabian Peninsula. Originally part of the College of Engineering, this department was established in 1387 AH. Both college sections: Architecture and Building Sciences and Urban Planning are part of human knowledge branches that combine art and science, and are deeply connected to other arts and humanities.
