About the Program: 

The Bachelor of Architecture program is the first in the Kingdom, second in the Gulf, and third in the Middle East to be accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), the sole accrediting body for architectural programs in the United States. This accreditation was initially awarded in January 2013 and subsequently renewed in 2019. The department is currently preparing for the next accreditation cycle for its program.

Program Learning Outcomes:  

1. Knowledge and Understanding 

- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of architectural principles, theories in architecture and related disciplines. 

- Identify and analyze the various factors influencing architectual practice. 

- Comprehend the processes, procedures and requirements of professional architectural practice.  

2. Skills  

- Conduct analytical and evaluative investigations using theoretical knowledge, principles, and standards in different aspects of professional practice using appropriate Information Computer Technology (ICT). 

- Develop creative and innovative design solutions for complex problems that demonstrate imagination capabilities, three-dimensional and spatial thinking by integrating technical, environmental, theoretical and professional knowledge in architecture. 

- Apply appropriate architectural design and building execution techniques.

- Demonstrate the ability to work in groups and manage tasks, time, and resources effectively. 

- Engage in self-directed learning and lifelong learning.

- Communicate effectively; verbally, visually, and in writing; to prepare presentations and reports for projects of various issues and audiences using appropriate ICT.
